If you have tried everything else and just can't come up with an advertiser to fill an advertising slot, I would still recommend placing "Advertise Here" in the empty ad spot. Most of my ad slots make as much money with an empty ad slot as they would with CJ links, but that's just my experience, I'm sure that others have had a better experience than I have had.
