I bought a domain in early 2003, built the site and was no where to be found in the google and ask serps...
I contacted Google in late 2003 and i was told (not directly but i could read between the lines) that it was a previous domain owner penalty and after they verified it was now a legit site, i was in the Google Serps within a couple of days.

However, almost 3 years later i am still not in Ask... If i search for my domain the site does not appear. The site in question has many links from .edu sites, several dmoz listings, it was cool site of the day at msn nz, and even the BBC has linked to me...

Communication with Ask is not existing, i did contact them once, but no answer...

...so does that mean, if a domain has been banned, it is dead forever at ASK?
