I literally had instant tears upon reading the news. There are very few people in this industry with the marketing skills at the level that Ted had that outshine those skills with their personality and general human goodness. I'd never heard Ted - in the decade that I've known him - utter an unkind word about anyone. He was the first person to chat up someone if he realized they were "first timers" at a conference and never was "too good" to help anyone - all anyone ever had to do was ask. The fountain of knowledge he shared as and his dedication to being an admin here helped to shape and mold some of the best SEOs I know.
The saying goes that only the good die young. Godspeed Tedster. You will be sorely missed as both a person and a pioneer in this industry.
