"Why in the world is webmasterworld so anonymous?"

Personally, I think there are thousands of reasons. My perception is that there are big players with small voices, small players with big voices, and everything else here from ultra white hats to super-spammers.

I think some individuals simply do not want others to inspect their sites for ego, legitimacy and other reasons. Can you imagine a sex site webmaster posting their URL here and sharing er.. um.. intimate knowledge about Google. I perceive that competition is aggressive in that webspace.

I personally give enough information within my profile for anybody to figure out who I am and in fact welcome any feedback or other comments one may have. However, I rarely if ever have got any comments from this community though my visitors (engineers) are quick to share any errors they find.

I personally would like to see more transparency with the posters on this webmasterworld..
