I can hardly find out who is who even when I view the 'profile page' of the poster.
Surely, that's an option of privacy. It's up to the poster if they decide to include their profile on public view. They may decide to remain incognito so that they are not spammed or marketed.
Come on people, is tis some kind of a mafia?
I'm not sure I understand the connection there. ;) Mafia [en.wikipedia.org] "The Mafia (also known as Cosa Nostra), is a criminal secret society which first developed in the mid-19th century in Sicily."
WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com] "This site is a service to the web site administrator community. We are here for WebmasterWorld members to discuss the process of doing business on the internet."
Can't you even allow a person to post his/her website and/or email address in the profile if he/she wishes to do so?
But they can add it to their profile. When new users show up to use that as a method of self promotion, the site is not automatically shown.
Otherwise, wat is the possible reason for maintaining this level of anonymity?
Privicy, and that's up to the membership.
It's high time you show some level of recognition (possibly returns) to the posters who hav made tis forum an authority.
With all due respect, as you have only been a member since Apr 18, 2007, and with two posts, perhaps you've not had the opportunity to spend time in the WebmasterWorld community.
Also, here's the WebmasterWorld mission statement.
Mission: This site is a service to the web site administrator community. We are here for WebmasterWorld members to discuss the process of doing business on the internet. Running a website takes a great deal of knowledge. The design, coding, maintenance, promotion, marketing, and management of a website is almost an impossible task for one person alone without extensive training. We are here as a forum for the members to share and gain knowledge in operating and promoting a website. Think of us as part of your extended site development and process team.
We are not here to actually do business with one another.
I hope that goes some way to answering your questions.
