---- Conference Round Up

Brett_Tabke - 4:44 am on Feb 29, 2004 (gmt 0)

Speaking on the Paid Inclusion panel from right to left: Tim Mayer (Yahoo), Kevin Lee (Did-it.com), Joe Laratro (MoreVisibility.com), Warren Duff (INeedHits.com) What an outstanding conference. Although I am swamped with follow up work and travel, let me share a few notes:

Gokul Rajaram from the AdSense Team said they are working hard on updating their partner payment distribution system. He left the strong impression that we would see some changes and adjustments in the system very soon. Matt Cutts also reiterated the same in his talk on the search engine panel q&a session.
Most requested presentations thus far: Dan Boberg, Christine Churchill, and Tedster.
Kanoodle talked indepth about a new contextual advertising program they will be launching shortly.
Booth guys were giving away all sorts of great freebies from Tshirts to skate boards.

Swamped with work over the new Yahoo PI program, Position Tech pulled out at the last minute.
Affiliate programs were new arrivals to Publishers conference. The big turnout was in the travel sector with affiliate programs such as Ian.com

Most talked about presentations: DaveN and SeGuru.
AskJeeves/Teoma is alive and well.
Personal award for service above and beyond in the line of duty: Hawkgirl! She was outstanding in dealing with a bulging crowd that was almost double what was expected a few weeks ago.
Matt Cutts said that Google is trying over a half dozen scoring techniques a month.
The European search engine panel featured some major players from the Euro scene: left to right: Jim Banks (Webdiversity.co.uk), Barry Lloyd (MakeMeTop), Shakil Khan (Shak) (freesearch.co.uk), Rasmus Sorensen Notabene.net, Derek Preston (Mirago.com
Other big give aways were from Pacific Poker who gave away a Palm PDA, and Moniker who gave a domain name to every attendee. Lastly, no PubConference would be complete without GoToast - who gave away one of those $400 toasters! Great Show! Thanks Folks!
