I find it essential that anybody can ask a similarly already asked question without searching the forum archives. I joined the webmasterworld forum recently as it was recommended to me by word of mouth but more importantly I needed a quick response and to date I have not been disappointed. I also know that if I ask a similar/topical question I will be redirected to where the question has already been asked and invariably answered by a fellow forum member or a moderator. In a way this might make us a bit lazy to search for our answers knowing this. As to the forum getting tired it is up to members to keep it fresh and possibly add their own ideas for improvements. If anything the biggest drawback I have is it is too big, but by know means am I complaining. Back to my initial point of searching the forums before asking a question. Last week I needed a quick answer and I knew it would be answered quickly within these forums. This week I have had time to read up on some of the forums in particular Google News. I have researched everything about search engines in the last 2 days (before I had never been that interested). So there I was all clued up but for one thing how to actually find the PageRank bar. The Google posts all referred to it but I did not know it existed on the Google toolbar and nowhere was it mentioned in Searchengineworld.com and I could not find the answer searching for it in the forums. My point here is I deliberately did not want to ask the question where it was for 2 reasons. One I had time to search the forums and two I didn't want to look silly! Well that's me done for the day, I'm going home now Steve p.s. I found it in the end by searching "google toolbar" on google! As with everything, obvious when you know!
As a newbie I would like to add my point of view.
