Here in Portugal a 512 kb´s ADSL or Cable connection cost 34.99 Euros (20 Gb national traffic, and 2 Gb international). If you want unlimited traffic, it will cost around 50 Euros.

UMTS is comming soon, so for now, if you want a broadband connection you must have a phone line (rent: 15 Euros a month) or a cable connection (15-20 euros a month).

So here, if you want to have a broadband connection, you´ll have to pay around 50 euros a month (minimum).
Not a bargain, if you see that minimum wage here is around 365 Euros, so a broadband connection costs more than 10% of some people´s salary...

Even so, ADSL & Cable connection are everywhere here, so people really like internet.
