It's a trend in many western European countries, ADSL connections have become relatively cheap, and once a user, be it corporate or home user, has surfed at DSL speed there's no turning back.

The good thing is that DSL users tend to spend much more time on the web.
I also suppose - but have no backing for that assumption - that DSL users are more adventurous, when it comes to surfing: taking a short look at a site or page doesn't cost any time or money.
