PPC wildfire!
When I said only a couple of days ago virtually no major engine in Germany will be without paid listings or something to the effect, that was only half the truth.
In fact even small engines jump on the bandwagon.

We just had news from Overture - now as expected on AV.de, and perhaps MSN.de to follow.
Now Espotting scores again.
This time it's metaspinner and suchen.com. More german deals are announced for the near future. No biggies, but it all adds up for Espotting and their advertisers.

According to Jupiter figures Espotting still takes the lead in Europe. In a press release [biz.yahoo.com] based on figures from jupiter Espotting claims to have 31% higher market share in Europe than Overture. Pretty close to what we have guessed at before (see PPC scene in Europe [webmasterworld.com]).

Perhaps even more interesting is the aggressiveness with which Espotting expands across borders. While Overture still is restricted to UK and Germany, Espotting already covers those two plus France, where they do the Lycos group plus Nomade.tiscali plus some smaller portals [webmasterworld.com].

In Q3 2002 Espotting opens offices in Italy and Spain.
