Well, I am still curious to see that site..maybe can you send it to me via some type of message? I was reading about all that web2.0 bla bla bla.. which I think is mostly just marketing... just like AJAX is nothing new, been around for a while.. but the word gave it life.
I love playing with directories... I wrote my own too, but is mostly a toy for me to learn PHP, Mysql, SEO and so on... Maps, Ratings, Voting.. it all depends on type of directory. Mostly just bells and whistles, since no one ever uses them... unless it is a very niche directory.
By the way.. I do like the idea of a directory/community
