Ground Rules for this Thread: Don't just say "XYZ Company" or "ABC software" is the best. State in detail what makes it better than others. Simple hotlinks, without details, will be removed. This is not a thread to debate the merits of submitting to multiple directories. This is NOT a thread to name your favorite directory. This is simply about the best way to execute a certain strategy: IF you think it is in your interest to submit your website to multiple "listing sites" - be they websites that call themselves "a directory" or simply a website that incorporates a noteworthy directory - WHAT are the best ways of hitting them all. Allow me to start with the thought: IF you are going this route do you think it's wise to submit the exact same "listing information" to all 7,893 directories . . OR should the information vary a bit? Same anchor text or varied? Vary anchor text by theme of the directory or related website? JUST BECAUSE you can submit to all 9,468 directories "for a fee" should you? I'm not overly impressed with the shotgun approach to link building BUT WHAT'S THE BEST anyone can do with this model or approach - other than "don't do it"? Alrighty . . Normally I'd nuke this topic, as directories and directory submission is an area of considerable promotion (forum spamming) but every once in awhile we break the rules.
