---- DMOZ Submission Review Delays and Automating "Community" Approvals

Quadrille - 1:09 am on Dec 11, 2006 (gmt 0)

We've heard that 90% of submissions are sludge; probably a reasonable estimate; we all know that it isn't far out.

And let us not forget that 90% of that sludge knows, in its heart of hearts, that (a) it's sludge and (b) it hasn't got a hope.

So why even ask ODP to pander to these people? It's been stated repeatedly, here and everywhere else "submit once to the appropriate category, and get on with your life" - and reasonable people have no difficulty with this.

Why would WebMasterWorld seek to encourage the obsessive directory spammers of this world. I really cannot see how this assists anyone with an interest in directories.

As for 'default listing' such sludge .. please tell me you were joking - I thought you shared the dream of building quality directories ... How wrong could I conceivably be?

But if you were joking (please say you were), then I unreservedy apologise for my sense of humour bypass :)
