I'm the sysadmin, and the redirect does do a 301, so everything's fine there.
And, looking at my logs I have no doubt that googlebot follows 301s.
However, I seem to recall reading on one of the Bourbon threads that google might be devaluing 301 redirected links. That is, a link to www.example.com which then 301s to example.com might be worth less than a direct link to example.com.
I seem to recall reading that google doesn't spider Zeal's pages, and in any case they all have PR0 as far as I can tell.
