On a new site I got an ODP listing. One day after Fast was on me, Google followed another day later, then came INK and Altavista.

My current URL made it into Yahoo before it got into the ODP, and I saw the same thing happen: Googlebot showed up and crawled my site almost immediately after I got the Yahoo listing.

If you can justify the cost of a Yahoo submission, and if your ODP category doesn't have an editor (or is a category that has a reputation for being backlogged), submitting to Yahoo may also be worthwhile.
