This is very interesting and I couldn't have stumbled across this at a better time. I was just looking for domain names for my new site.

I recently took down a directory that allowed vistors to the site to just submit sites into the db and I would review them. I found myself getting so many sites that I couldn't link to. Also, I couldn't think of charging because the market was flooded with directories and I couldn't justify the time involved that took away from paying work. I was alittle over ambitous and I think I could have been more successful with a local directory. I did learn alot about seo and that was very helpful.

From what I learned, I am going to take a stab at this again and try to generate traffic to my business with a local directory.

rcjordan - is there a link to that software you were talking about, it sounds interesting.
