With my current setup, I hit the Windows key and I'm at any program/file/folder I could ever want and do whatever I want with it, including right-clicking and uninstalling a program if I should so desire.
It certainly beats, *click Start button, move cursor up, click for popout window, move cursor over, move cursor up, click for popout window, move cursor over, move cursor down, click for popout window, move cursor over, click file*.
Maybe some people are not on a time frame, but anything that makes my work faster = better.
I bet if they never had a Start button, and instead had it the way it is now in Win 8, then suddenly introduced the Start button with no other option, people would be, "OMG they're slowing me down!" ;)
