I can see this pretty much killing the ipad and android tabs pretty swiftly.

iPad and iPhone are a status symbol like Sony was a while back. But they may sell more while not eating much in Apple's share.

Android? Not sure. Amazon's upcoming tablet is apparently a total fork and not compatible so not sure if it's Android. Then they are issues with patents that MS might exploit to get them to use Windows instead of Android. Samsung failed miserably I heard, sold less than 20k out of a million shipped and both AAPL and MSFT are after them for patents, or protection money ;)

Their biggest drawback is timing, this is a year away apparently, and that's half of a lifetime in that area.
