switch out your home page for a straight HTML "joke" page for just the 1st of april..meta refresh from it to your standard home page ( which you would have to rename for 24 hours )..2nd of april remove the "joke" page ..and "correct" the name of your usual home page..

or you can "redirect" via php to a joke page as the visitors land..and then meta-refresh from that one..

or do the redirect upon "landing" via htaccess..use a cookie to stop any "looping"..

lot of ways to do what you want..

if you name your "joke "page "index.html" ..you may not need to rename your home page..just meta refresh after a 5 second delay from the html to the php.
