I also just launched a new blog. I installed a self-hosted wordpress blog on my wife's accountancy website a few weeks ago, and have now posted about 10 articles (really good information from both the accountancy firm and it's business partners who provide expert advice).

However I really don't know how to go about advertising these articles so that people get to read them. I have all the social buttons added to each article, added RSS feeds, email subscriptions, and I have registered my wife and her company blog on a couple of blogging hubs. I tried to look for some blog directories to add links from but they all seem to be pay ones - which I will never do.

Any suggestions how I can get exposure and higher search engine rankings?
