One thing I've found interesting is the way more posts = more followers, and the relationship is direct. These followers are sometimes bots, who don't stick around unless you follow them back and who don't interact. And sometimes they're follow spammers who are just out for the follow back, again with little possibility of interaction. But there's also the way that frequent posting makes you more visible on the site as a whole, through Twitter search and the possibility of getting retweeted.

I'm another who will unfollow too-frequent posters, but where I draw the line depends on how interesting their tweets are.
