An international brand name with a regionally local manufacturing plant is currently giving away some expensive but useful products to some area charities selected by facebook voting, Our local charity candidate is getting significant local press coverage in their campaign to be one of the winners. And of course by extension both the brand name and facebook are also receiving significant local press, making a win-win-win even if the local charity doesn't win one of the give-away items. All in addition to all the fans to be gained by the brand name and probably also by the charities.
Plus the local charity in the running does such good work and is so deserving I'm feeling guilted about my facebook conscientious objector status and not being able to support the charity with my vote, which even if I don't succumb I mark as another win for facebook.
