It sounds like a "long sales arc" process to turn a newly acquired fan into a sale, and the Facebook Fan page is more about customer retention than customer acquisition.
Seems to me that a fan is likely to be a customer already, right? Is your offering something that requires or encourages frequent new purchases?
It also sounds like integrating "first touch attribution" in your analytics would be quite useful over the long run.
