what is the big deal? most normal users aren't net nerds installing other browsers and add-ons.
They install add-ons... they just don't know about it.
When friends / business associates ask me to help clean up all the garbage on their computer, (because the "computer is slow"), I most often find MS-IE with 3-4 tools that were installed during the installation of something else, (e.g.- they install RealPlayer and get the Norton security Toolbar, install AVG and get the Yahoo! toolbar, install some video program and get a "smiley face" toolbar, install a "disk cleaner" and get a "Search Assistant" that routes all their searches through that site's PPC ads page, etc, etc)...
Not only do they not know there are other browsers, they don't realize that they can uncheck add-ons during free / demo software trials.
The standard answer when I ask, "Do you use [this or that] toolbar?", is "I don't even know what it is or how it got there".
