If your the moderator of a forum and you discredit somebody your word is given more weight.
I've been here for like . . . sheesh . . . . forever . . . . and the word "discredit" catches my attention. Can you "anonymize" an example of what you mean by "discredit?" Seems like the flavor of the moderation here would slam dunk any "discrediting" immediately, even if it came from a mod.
Correcting an erroneous statement is a different story, but even that comes in degrees. An example, I can't count the times Fotiman has slapped me around for using new Array(). :-) And it's well corrected, as anyone seeing it *should* be doing it as myarray = ['elements']. These are done so someone looking for an answer gets the most accurate one, and it's always a good thing.
Overall the attitude of Moderators and Senior members need to change.
May not mean much to you, but a wise woman (my wife :-) ) has a saying that is one of the indisputable truths of the universe: you can't change people. All you can change is how you react to them. That's how I get through those . . .
