I skipped entirely over Vista. While I hear things got a lot better after a couple of years, the majority still seem to prefer 7.

My biggest gripe with 7, though, is that Explorer feels significantly less useful than in XP. Also, that damn bug in Explorer where you click on a folder in the folder tree and it shoots down to the bottom of the window. I'd prefer it not to go anywhere and I can accept it jumping to the top, but the bottom? Grr... How difficult can that possibly be to fix?

Drivers aren't an issue (well, not because of Win7 anyway). The driver model hasn't changed (significantly) between Vista and 7, so vendors have had plenty of time to get their crap together.
