Are you referring to the application of the .LNK patch that Microsoft just put out or something else?

To be honest I'm not too sure. I don't let it update automatically however when I started the machine it advised there was about 6.7 mb or so update therefore I let it do it since I wasn't in a hurry for the machine (my laptop), then the problems started after the advised re-boot.

It seems to be working fine now, interestingly my Win 7 netbook also had an update and it went fine as did all the Vista and XP machines however I have to say this is not the first time with Win 7 that I've needed a couple of re-boots to get going again but I was getting worried this time since I had what seemed to be an awful long hang, maybe 10 minutes or so, plus a black screen with the cursor working!
