Wouldn't it be wiser to have one script that takes a GET param containing the URL of the link they'd like to send to their friend?

E.G.

http://www.example.com/cgi-bin/tellafriend.cgi?page=http://www.example.com/widgets/furry/blue/

And have that be the link they click to tell their friend. Then you can grab $url and put it in the email. Seems sane, unless I'm missing another requirement of the script..
