Where I live the price of top-notch notebooks has fallen by a third in about a year, simply in order to compete with iPad sales.
The limited function iPad sells at the same price here as said notebook.
Apple denied they were going to make a "tablet device" all through iPad's production and development. Only at the finale did they admit it.
Their next major product is so obvious, there's a universal demand for what Bill hungers for. You can be certain Apple are well down the line to delivering the final nail in the notebook's coffin.
I'm no speed-typist, but using the iPad "keyboard" is a dream, and the other tablets; Acer, Sony, Samsung awful in comparison.
Save your money, don't waste it on "Surface"; it will sink as soon as the full-blown OSX iPad-replacement appears.
