They're making it attractive for advertisers, and once they get a good slice of Google's ad revenue they'll push the ad rates a bit.

But you have to hook the customer first as Google has them locked up.

MS's online strategy is long term, they're slowly chipping away at the problem, but make no mistake about it, with that much money at stake, they'll keep chipping until the tide turns.
