Definitely shows a lack of vision. Or it could show the extent to which the current global economic crisis has reached...

Compare it to Apple:

Revenue up 9% to $8.16 billion; Net income up 20% to $1.2 billion.

While one might say that the profit margin of MSFT (21.8%) is larger than AAPL's (14.7%) keep in mind that Microsoft sells far more (expensive) software than Apple and software is easier to get a huge margin on, hardware isn't.

So back to vision: Ballmer ain't no Jobs, not by far.
