Perhaps the first will be higher quality, but people will need to download much more data to see the video

If you're uploading to youtube they will re-encode it unless it meets their specs. The best thing to do is to upload the highest quality video you have.


Wish I knew the filesize of videos I have clicked on to guage what is an acceptable download time.


The filesize doesn't really matter becsue that is determined by length*bitrate, what matters is the bitrate. I believe youtube uses about 250kbps for regular uploads.


FYI you can serve this from your own server. For .flv all you need is a flash player.
