---- Two links, one keyword... great targeting.

Here is the deal, I want to rank high for the keyword "Widgets", but everyone links to me with "Blue Widgets". My domain is bluewidgets.com, but nobody searches for "blue widgets", they all search for "widgets".

Most people link to me after receiving an email when they list there site on my site. The email contains the code to link back.

I am thinking of changing that code to have two links, both to the same site, but break up the keywords. Ie:

Looking for <a herf=domain.com>blue</a> <a herf=domain.com>widgets</a>?

To the end user, it will look (almost) like a single link. To google, and other search engines, it should rank higher for widgets, no?

I could care less about the keyword "blue", as it is all to generic, but a top 3 for widgets would be great! :)
