Have you tied the loss in traffic for you to specific link building?

I agree in terms of content marketing, however the most difficult part is what we call content asset matching - analyzing the niche, and the easiest editorial opportunities to secure links in various link bucket types, then developing the content based on specific link opportunities.

The difficult part is often that you incur the expense up front for developing fantastic content up front and then "hoping" your target websites will respond well to it. It is an about-face to link building of only a couple of years back where building was direct and measured in weeks, and built "in the moment"
