One of my sites has picked up dozens of links from foreign sites. For most of them the anchor texts are in foreign languages that I can't read. When these links first started to appear, which was several years ago, I was worried that they would cause the site's U.S. rankings to be hurt, but that doesn't seem to have happened. Even so, I would much rather see a new link from a U.S.- based site, because I think they help a lot more in U.S. rankings than links from forign sites. .
