Seriously though, there is a whole area of marketing that is related to making people realize they had problems they didn't know they had. Drug manufacturers excel at this, creating all sorts of medical names for syndromes that people had been living fine with. ADHD, anyone? Borderline Personality Disorder, GERD, chronic halitosis.
But there are other products as well. Keystone told us that if we don't drink their beer, we might suffer from Bitter Beer Face, for example.
So if you can't attract them to the benefits of the product, then you need to alert them to the dangers of NOT getting your product.
