I think that the reason is google only shows trusted and properly indexed links...

The links shown have never been an indicator of what Google is using to rank a site. Some links shown in a backlink count are not counted for ranking. As goodroi mentioned, the backlinks shown have always been a sample. As with other searches, do not rely too much on backlink searches to derive meaning for SEO purposes.
