Make some crazy videos. Show your widgets getting run over by a bus or a bulldozer, getting smashed by a sledgehammer, getting blended in a BlendTec® Blender (Will it Blend?), etc.

On your order receipt offer anyone who blogs about your product (and links to the product page) a 25% off coupon. Just tell them to send you the URL of the blog post and then you'll send the coupon code. I think this was in the same article that leadegroot is talking about.

Make some charts or data about your product or industry. Use the BLS website to get employment data for the industry. If it's a growing one, make some 3D charts in Excel that reflect job growth in the industry. I think this idea was in that same SEOMoz thread too.

Basically you're looking for ways to make an "unremarkable" e-commerce store "remarkable". People love pretty charts, videos, and LOLCats.
