Great quote! I think the best thing we can all do is uninstall the Google toolbar and get on with webmastering. I've been toolbar free for almost a month now, life is so much better. Forget PR, if you want to link then link, the www is a much bigger canvas than Google's serp's. The PR wave is over anyhow, there is a new kid in town, goes by the name of Max-Flow-Min-Cut Theorem.
