If it has enough of the features you were looking for so that you already purchased it, then the only tests will be that it performs its functions properly and that the company will provide good customer support if necessary. It will also need to be easy to install, and it would take downloading it and installing it to be able to tell that.

You'll have to actually put it into use to be able to tell whether it was a wise purchase. The fact that you can approve or reject the submissions is a very good feature, so it sounds like you made a good choice.
