What do you mean you hid it pretty well? May be that was the problem, do not hide it, but put it in the most relevant place and give it a good description, though it is a valuable resource for readers and it will not get deleted.

Or even better, if for example you sell green widgets for apple, create a section where you describe all kinds of different widgets for apples and put your link and other links as well there.
