I run a lot of windows apps in portable mode on linux mint..without passing through "wine"..and a lot of older "machine code" win apps ( that I never got around to making "portable" ) under wine..
and the more recent ones work on XP too..maybe FF13 etc will work as a portable app on W2K..?
