As a webmaster, IMO, one has to view sites the way 90% of visitors will. That means running IE often, even if one prefers another browser for personal surfing.
Vkaryl, I'm not sure why running IE is presumed to open the floodgates of adware on your PC - I've surfed thousands of sites in IE but never unknowingly picked up adware or spyware. (I've chosen to install spyware occasionally, like the Google and Alexa toolbars, but that was a conscious decision after weighing the risks vs. benefits.)
