It is, but a joe surfer doesn't know that. In most cases they misspell the domain name and land up at msn search. MS should probably rename it as something like "Website Address or Search Keyword" or somethhing better.

If he knew it, there's a chance that he will directly search there and eliminate one step (going to www.searchengine.com and then inputting keywords to search)
