---- Opera 8 beta introduces 'User Javascript'

tedster - 7:38 pm on Mar 23, 2005 (gmt 0)

User Javascripts are similar to FireFox's GreaseMonkey extension, but conceived a while ago, and indepently.

User JavaScript is basically a script from a local file that gets executed before any other scripts (or event handlers) on the page, once in every document. With User JavaScripts, you can change layout, elements, behavior, almost anything...

Opera's experimental implementation in Opera 8 (beta 3 and higher) requires some manual work. Which not only means the feature will be limited to power-users, it also means that you can only shoot yourself in the foot after carefully pointing your gun.
