Sorry about that... I found the file, closed Opera, edited some titles, made my posting here, and went to have dinner without checking whether the edits would last. Perhaps Opera fetches the title 'live' when we open a speed dial tab? Some searching showed a posting in the forums on opera.com where a moderator says that the titles cannot be edited manually. Weird.
