When you say hung, do you mean the whole app is non-responsive?

I'm not sure if you've used Opera before but in my version, the application opens completely empty. ie. no browsing tabs/windows. There is no location field and such.

You have to first open a "new page". Then you will have all your input fields and such.

Go to File->New Page in the upper menu.
