Speedwise, it seems SLOWER than IE. And not as lightning quick as Opera 6 was. But I need to do further tests. One thing. Why do links now show up as tooltips? Even email links. It can mess up a menu and cause 'screen litter'. Why change the basic way browsers operate? (no pun intended.) Is Opera the new Microsoft?
I'm doing some tests now with Opera 7. I will report back when they are done. So far it seems reasonable. Why does everyone dislike the interface? I like the new 3D buttons, though there are too many of them (or the main ones such as Back should be separated or stand out somehow. But at least there's a large HOME button unlike stupid Netscape!)
