---- using a black-white-monitor?

English isnt my first language so Im not sure if black-white-monitor is the right word, but I guess u get what I mean.

Ive been wondering if using a monitor that you can switch to black/white/gray would help prevent any eye/vision problems. I dont have any, but would like to make sure it stays that way if im goign to work on a monitor for years 10 hours/day lol...

It seems like switching to black/white would make it easier on the eyes, and it wouldnt really bother me to read/write in black white, while I'm writing code/e-mails/reading/etc..

Any idea if this would be a good idea?

Any other ideas what to do to make it easy on the eyes?
