>edit>OK. I just checked with Yahoo. They list - That doesn't seem quite so bad. It certainly isn't "50 VPs". <edit2>I am completely wrong. [edited by: Sally_Stitts at 6:36 pm (utc) on Nov. 16, 2006]
I read that Yahoo has over 50 vice presidents. That is "top-heavy", my friend.
With that kind of entrenchment in place, it's no wonder that nothing can move.
Consensus cannot be achieved. Everyone wants to preserve the status quo. And defend their own territory.
No one wants to risk personal failure, which ironically, results in corporate failure, or at the least, stagnation.
2 - Founders
1 - Chairman
1 - President
8 - Vice Presidents
4 - Directors
(perhaps this could be restated as "16 commanders".)
But it does seem top heavy.
I must be careful what I read and believe from the internet, without verification.
Google has 28 Vice Presidents. So it has to be something else.
Perhaps it's "corporate culture".
